Letter g drawn by me as Spiro contours, using FontForge. At the time of this writing, this is the design of the g for my font family (being developed) "Valley".

Beautiful; I remember Manfred Klein
spoke somewhere about doing artwork
(painting?) of just one letter.

Sorry I forgot to say thank you! I was thinking about Manfred Klein.

I have the book "Type and Typographers" that he co-wrote, but it is disappointingly badly written. His is the best writing in it, however. :)

Those rounded forms and the "ear" make me think of a little animal.

That's why it's called an ear. :) But in this case it looks like sort of like a dog's ear on purpose.

I was thinking of a smaller animal, may be a rodent. But cute as a puppy.

Guinea pigs seem to be bred for floppy ears. :)

I like this kind of texture! Looks like a rpg book!

A role-playing game book? I'm only familiar with early versions of AD&D and they didn't have anything like this. :)

Much of the texture comes from taking the picture, running it through a cubism filter, doing edge-detection on the cubed image, then subtracting the result of that from the original image. I like doing that sort of thing at the last minute before deciding that the work is done.

I just realized it was about 30 years ago I started playing D&D, and that it is about 18 years since the last time I played. So, instead of thinking about my "g", I feel upset that I am getting old. :)
