A new version of the Fanwood fonts (my version of Fairfield) is available, including a very slightly different alternative called Fanwood Text:

Ill add here that I have changed the roman "r" slightly for technical reasons associated with digital rendering. I raised the top serif slightly. The preview, which someone else made in the first place, hasnt been remade, but it would be a challenge to recognize the difference.
Often the original metal typefaces have elements that dont line up horizontally, but which are best lined up in digital versions. Partly this is because of the properties of computer graphics, and partly it is because the font needs to look good despite scaling to different sizes. Thus, for example, the crossbar on the "f" in Fanwood always has been higher than in the original.
